The third edition of our Pan-African Debating Championship will be hosted in the city that started it all – Cape Town. We expect over 300 highly competitive debaters from across the continent.

The National Debating League launched in Angola in partnership with Colégio Angolano de Talatona (CAT). CAT is a founding member of our Pan-African Debating Championship. Together, we hosted nearly 100 debaters from Luanda and Lubango in Grades 6 to 12.

The NDL launched a primary school edition of our Pan-African Debating Championship. This first championship brought together top performing teams from Namibia, South Africa, and Kenya. The finals were ultimately won by Springfield Convent Junior School from Cape Town.

In the second edition of our Pan-African Debating Championship our program grew to include 19 schools from across Africa. We were hosted by Roedean School (SA) who narrowly lost the finals to UWC East Africa. At this time our local programs for South African schools included over 100 schools.

16-17 February 2024
The National Debating League launched is first tournament in Mozambique. We were hosted by Maputo International School and brought together 5 highly competitive schools from Maputo and Beira. Our Mozambican program launched with nearly 200 participants from Grades 6 to 12.

2-5 October 2023
This was the National Debating League’s first edition of the Pan-African Debating Championship. We launched with a group of just 80 debaters from places as distant as Kigali and Namibia. This championship was ultimately won by Crawford International Pretoria in a heated final against St George's Diocesan School.
